This recently completed Tucson Swimming Pool offered Pools by Design some unique challenges. This Infinity Edge Pool was constructed 12 foot above natural grade providing an exceptional view of the Tucson valley and city lights below. In addition this pool is protected by a retractable automatic safety cover that is completely hidden under the travertine coping in a concealed concrete box. The track for the auto cover is located under the travertine deck on one side and below the infinity edge on the outside.
The Infinity Edge provides a dramatic effect with continual flow of water over a black pearl granite tile. The water overflows down into a tiled gutter that equalizes the pool water into a surge tank. The stored water is then pumped back into the pool resulting in a continual overflow.
The water breaking over the dark granite creates a reflective surface mirroring the clouds and surrounding mountains. The edge was honed to exacting specifications to allow the water to flow evenly over the entire spillway. A Pentair Intelliflo Variable Speed pump maintains a consistent flow over the 65 foot long edge at a flow rate less than 60 gpm. A salt disinfection system and infloor cleaner keeps the water clean, clear and comfortable to the bather. A Screen Logic Interface allows the homeowner the ability to view and control all functions of the pool operation from the convenience of their computer or mobile device.
The pool interior is a gorgeous Ocean Blue Pebble Sheen surface with iridescent sea shells. Inlayed stone tiles were installed on all the steps and the lagoon area. French Pattern Travertine pavers contrast the dark interior and provide a beautiful extended outdoor living area.
